What to Do Before We Get There
If you have active water right now, these five things matter more than anything else.
- Shut the water off at the main
- Kill power to the affected area if water is near outlets or fixtures
- Move furniture and belongings out of the water if you can do it safely
- Do not run the HVAC, because it will carry moisture into the rest of the building
- Take photos before you move anything, for your claim

Walk the place with a flashlight.
