Caprock Mold Pros is a mold remediation and water damage company serving Lubbock and the South Plains. We do inspection, testing, removal, structural drying and the reconstruction afterward, for homes and for commercial property.
What We Actually Do
Most of our work starts with a phone call from somebody who smells something and cannot find it, or who had a pipe break and is not sure the wall ever dried. We come out, we look, we take moisture readings, and we tell you what is going on. That part is free.
If there is a problem, we scope it in writing with a price, and then we do the work: stop the water first, contain the area, remove what cannot be saved, clean and treat what can, dry the structure to a measured standard, and put it back together.
How We Work
We fix the cause. Every "the mold came back" story we hear is a water source that never got addressed. Finding and killing that source is the first step on every job we take, not an add-on.
We tell you when you do not need us. If what you have is surface mildew in a shower and a bath fan that needs replacing, we will say that and leave. We would rather be the company you call next time than the company that sold you something you did not need.
We put it in writing. Written scope, written price, before anything starts. Nothing gets added at the end.
We answer the phone. Water does not keep business hours, and what happens in the first day or two after a leak determines whether this is a drying job or a remediation.
We Know West Texas Buildings
Mold work here is not the same as mold work on the Gulf Coast, and a national playbook does not fit these houses. What we deal with every week:
- Slab-on-grade construction over caliche and expansive clay, and the slab leaks that soil movement produces
- Hail-damaged roofs that start leaking months after the storm
- Hard freeze events that break pipes across the whole city at once
- Evaporative coolers, and what happens when a house gets tightened up around one
- Attic-mounted air handlers and the condensate failures that come with them
- Older pier and beam housing stock in Tech Terrace, the neighborhoods around Texas Tech, and the historic cores of the surrounding towns
- Metal shops and agricultural buildings that condense under the steel
